Electrical Installation Certificate
New installations, additions and alterations. Carries the design, construction and inspection declarations, the supply characteristics, the schedule of inspections and the schedule of test results.
Electrical Installation Condition Report
Periodic inspection. Observations recorded with their classification codes and carried through to the summary, the extent and limitations, and the overall assessment.
Minor Works Certificate
Work that does not include a new circuit. The short form, filled from the same job record as everything else rather than as a separate exercise.
Nothing on it is typed twice.
The installation address comes from the property. The earthing arrangement, Ze and prospective fault current come from the supply record you filled in at the start. The circuit details come from the circuits Ohmly drew. The test results come from the test entry screens. The inspection schedule comes from the checklist you worked through.
Your details, your scheme membership number and your qualification numbers come from your business profile, set once.
What Ohmly was not told prints as "Not stated". An empty box on a certificate reads like an answer, and it should not.

Four properties, and each of them matters when someone disputes it.
Signed on the device, bound to the contents
The signature is tied to a hash of what the certificate said at the moment you signed it. Change a value afterwards and the signature no longer matches. That is the entire point of a signature, and most software does not do it.
Numbered from your own register
Certificate numbers come from your issue register, in sequence. They are yours, they do not collide, and they do not repeat. When a customer or an inspector asks for certificate 0092, there is exactly one.
Immutable once issued
An issued certificate cannot be quietly edited. A correction is a new issue that records what changed and why, so the original stays what it was on the day it was signed. That protects you, not us.

This section exists because the alternative is you finding out later. Everything below is a straight answer rather than a legal disclaimer.
We do not claim your scheme will accept it
NICEIC, NAPIT, BESCA, Blue Flame Certification and OFTEC each set requirements for certificates issued by their registrants, and some mandate their own forms or their own approved software. No scheme provider has confirmed acceptance of Ohmly's output to us. Check with yours before relying on it for registered work. If a provider confirms in writing, this page will say so and name them.
Works with whichever scheme you’re registered with. Your certificate isn’t scheme-branded, and notification stays in your scheme’s own portal.
We do not use the IET model forms
Ohmly designs its own certificate layout, carrying the content a certificate is required to carry. It is not a reproduction of the IET's published model forms. If your scheme requires those forms specifically, Ohmly's certificate is not them, and that is worth checking before you rely on it.
Every value is checked against the book; compliance stays yours
Every figure Ohmly uses is checked against the published standard, read from a named edition and re-derived from the printed formula. No BS 7671 value is written into the app's code: every threshold is a catalogue entry carrying that record. Checked is not compliant: a value matching its page says nothing about your installation, so we still do not call our output "compliant" or "correct", and you should treat any electrical software that does with suspicion.
We do not reproduce the regulation text
Ohmly cites the regulation number for you to look up. It does not print the wording, which is licensed material and stays in the book you already own.
We do not notify Part P
Ohmly records the notification you made in your own scheme's portal: the scheme, the date and the reference. It submits nothing, because no scheme in England or Wales exposes a submission route to a third-party app. Anything claiming otherwise is claiming something that does not exist.
You remain the responsible person
Ohmly does the arithmetic, holds the record and writes the document. The design decisions, the inspection and the declaration are yours, as they have to be. It is a tool in the hands of a qualified electrician, not a substitute for one.
Why put this on a marketing page? Because an electrician who subscribes believing their scheme will accept the output, and finds that it will not, is the worst outcome this product can produce. We would rather you trusted this page than bought on the strength of a claim we cannot stand behind.

Which tier are certificates on?
All three are on the free tier, signed and issued, alongside every safety determination and the full installation checklist. The free tier covers one job: your first job is free to issue, and Pro removes the limit and adds the branded export and the job history behind it. See the tiers.
Can I put my own logo and scheme number on it?
Yes. Company name, logo, phone, email, website, registered address, competent person scheme and membership number, and qualification numbers are set once in your business profile and carried onto every document you produce.
What happens if I make a mistake on an issued certificate?
You issue a corrected version. The original stays intact and the register records both, so the trail shows a correction was made rather than showing a document that appears never to have been wrong.
Where are my issued certificates stored?
On your device, in your project and property history. We hold no copy, because Ohmly has no servers. For a second copy, export the PDF and keep it somewhere you control, or switch on Google Drive backup in Settings, which copies your records to your own Google account.
Does it handle the EICR observation codes?
Yes. Observations are recorded with their classification and carried through the report, and an observation can be taken forward into a remedial design so the fix is linked to what prompted it.
Can I record instrument calibration?
Yes, and the expiry date is asked for rather than assumed from a standard interval, because assuming it would put a date on a signed document that nobody entered.
