Nothing that keeps an installation safe is ever behind a payment.
Getting these right is the most important part of your job. Every safety determination, every warning and the whole installation checklist including its safe isolation steps are on the free tier and will stay there. This is a rule in the code rather than a promise on a page: the build fails if anyone adds a paid gate to a safety feature.
Every figure Ohmly uses is checked against the published standard, read from a named edition and re-derived from the printed formula.
It costs us money and it is not negotiable. We would rather hear that an installation was made safer because someone had the free tier open than earn anything from putting that behind a payment.
It is also why the paid tiers are priced on the paperwork rather than on the safety. You are paying for your evening back, not for permission to work properly.
You already know how to work this out.
A quote written properly takes about half an hour, and it is unpaid time at the end of a working day. A UK sole trader's effective rate sits somewhere between £40 and £75 an hour.
Ohmly turns most of that half hour into a review and a send, because the costing comes off the drawing you already made. Then it does the same to the certificate.
Two quotes a month covers it several times over. That is before the certificate, the schedule, the way labels, and not having to find the diagram you drew for that house three years ago.
For a UK sole trader, a tool subscription used for the business is ordinarily an allowable expense. We are not accountants, so check that with yours.
Ohmly removes the transcription, which is most of that time, and leaves you the review.

Cloud sync
There are no servers, so there is nothing to sync to and nothing for us to restore. Your work lives on the device. Setting up a new Android phone from your old one carries it across, handset to handset. For a phone that is lost or stolen, Settings has a switch that backs your records up to your own Google Drive, off until you turn it on, and it does not include your site photographs. Leave it off and a lost phone takes your only copy with it, so take the export in Settings, share it somewhere you control, and do that more than once.
Team accounts
No shared project library, no seats and no admin controls. Ohmly is built around one electrician and the work in front of them.
Wholesaler ordering
You get a priced materials list and an exportable shopping list. You place the order yourself, at the counter or online.
Invoicing and accounts
Ohmly writes the quote. Raising the invoice and keeping the books stays with the software you already use for it.
Part P notification
Ohmly records the notification you made in your scheme's portal, with the scheme, date and reference. No third-party app can submit on your behalf, so that step stays with you.
An iPhone version
Ohmly is Android first. iOS is the next platform, and we will announce it when there is a date worth giving you.
Before you subscribe.
Is that the price I actually pay?
Yes, in the United Kingdom. Subscriptions are charged through Google Play in pounds sterling, and Google shows you the final amount, including any tax, before you confirm anything.
Outside the UK, Google converts to your local currency and applies local tax, so the figure on your screen will differ from the one on this page. The figure Google shows you at the point of purchase is the one that governs.
Does the free tier expire?
No, and there is no countdown. The safety half of the app stays free permanently, which is a commitment rather than an offer, and the EIC, EICR and Minor Works certificates are on it too.
Pro is where the business lives: unlimited projects, quotes, priced materials, and the specialist wizards.
What happens to my work if I cancel?
You drop back to the free tier. Your projects, drawings and issued certificates stay on your device, because they were never anywhere else, and you can still export what you have.
You would lose the ability to issue new certificates and to create beyond five projects until you resubscribe.
Is there an apprentice or student price?
There is student verification in the app. Separately from that, the learning content, glossary, symbol library, safe isolation reference and the starter circuit wizards are free to everyone, so an apprentice can use Ohmly seriously without paying.
Can I pay annually?
Yes. Monthly and annual are both offered through Google Play, and annual works out cheaper per month.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no Ohmly account and no sign-up. Your subscription is attached to your Google Play account, which you already have if you installed the app.
Is there advertising?
Yes, on the free tier. There are three places it can appear: a strip at the bottom of the home screen, a full screen when you close a project back to the home screen, and a full screen after you export a PDF. That is the complete list.
It never appears on the drawing canvas, in a wizard, in the installation checklist, or beside a safety warning. There is no advertisement when you open the app. Pro and Pro+ carry none at all, and on those tiers the advertising code is never started, so the app makes no advertising requests.
Your time is the expensive part.
